Applying the custom patch (a zip file) provided by Support team

How to apply a custom patch (zip file) provided by support team in the Applications Manager?

Please follow below steps for applying custom patches (zip file) provided by the support team.

1.Create a folder called 'AppManager_Support_Patches' in AppManager server (In C:\  for Windows OS or /opt in Linux OS) and copy the Patch sent by support team to this folder.

2.Stop the Applications Manager as you normally do.

3.Take backup of AppManagerHome\working\classes\"com" folder and AppManagerHome\working\WEB-INF\"classes" folder if they already exist. If not present go to next step.

4.To extract the entire contents of the compressed zip file, right-click that, select Extract All, and select Browse, then select the AppManagerHome directory (AppManager9 or AppManager10 or AppManager11) as the destination folder and Extract. (Refer attached images)

If you use WinRar or 7zip, select 'Extract to' option, select the destination as AppManagerHome directory and extract it.

5.In Linux execute below command to unzip the patch.

unzip  /opt/AppManager_support_Patches/patchxx.zip  -d  /opt/ME/AppManager11/

6.Restart the Applications Manager as you normally do.

Note: If you get message like 'Confirm Folder Replace', select 'Yes' & proceed. It will not replace your entire working folder, it will copy only the patch file into relevant subfolders. The destination path will be created even if that does not exist.

If you have any folder like "com_buildnumber" (com_11040 or com_10XXX etc..) under AppManagerHome/working/classes/ location or "classes_buildnumber" (classes_10XXX or classes_11110) under AppManagerHome/working/WEB-INF/,  ignore them. They are old patch folders renamed with the respective build number in their name when the Applications Manager was last upgraded.
